In Atlanta, Terrell Owens' child support case drags on

In the latest news from the ongoing saga that is Terrell Owens' child support case, the football player has reportedly fired his former Georgia family law attorney after the lawyer reportedly failed to inform him of a pending family court date. Owens has already retained the services of a new child support lawyer, and had a makeup court date scheduled for today. There is no word yet on whether Owens was present for the rescheduled hearing, although it certainly would not have boded well for him if he had missed yet another court appearance.

It seems that hardly a month goes by where former professional football player Terrell Owens does not make the news for something that is not football-related. It seems that not a month goes by without some family court complaint or criminal charges being filed against professional football player Terrell Owens regarding unpaid child support. In the latest installment of Owens' ongoing child support drama, a warrant for his arrest was recently rescinded after he made his court-ordered child support payment to the mother one of his four children. It only remains to be seen whether Owens will be back in court next month on similar charges.

Now, it appears that the threat of jail time for contempt has again motivated Owens to make good on his child support payments.

In June, we wrote about professional football player Terrell Owens' failure to pay child support to the mother of one of his children, which caused her to seek legal action. At that time, she filed court papers on Fulton County, asking a family court judge to charge Owens with contempt after his alleged failure to pay child support for the month of June. In those court documents, the Atlanta mother alleged that she had been told by Owens' financial advisors that the player would no longer be making his full monthly child support payments.

Terrell Owens facing child support contempt charges in Georgia

The mother of a child of Terrell Owens' has filed court papers in Fulton County, asking a judge to charge the football player with contempt after he allegedly failed to pay his court-ordered child support for the month of June. The mother claims that she was told by Owens' financial advisors that he recently decided to no longer make the full $5,000 per month child support payment.
