Atlanta reality star to receive $75,000 in back child support

A former cast member of the Bravo reality show “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” will soon receive a reported $75,000 in back child support from her ex-husband, who has been ordered to repay his child support arrears by early next month.

According to media reports, Sheree Whitfield’s ex-husband, Bob, owes her a total of $81,000 after failing to make 38 monthly child support payments. In a recent Georgia family court hearing, Bob admitted that he had missed the payments, and was ordered to pay $75,000 to Sheree by November 11.

In addition, the court agreed to reduce Bob’s monthly child support obligation from $2,142 to $1,000 per month for the next 12 months. Bob, a former professional football player who signed a $30 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons in 2000, had previously requested a reduction, claiming that he no longer had the income to make those monthly payments. Those earlier requests had been denied, but it appears that the court has now agreed to a temporary downward adjustment of his child support obligation.

The marital troubles and subsequent divorce of Sheree and Bob Whitfield were displayed in detail on the Atlanta “Real Housewives” franchise. Sheree, who appeared in four seasons of the hit show, reportedly bragged about the divorce settlement she anticipated during her first season on the show, and her husband displayed similar antics after besting her in Georgia family court in the most recent season.

Sheree is no longer a “Real Housewives” cast member, but reportedly has some new, undisclosed “projects in the works.”
