Moore-Kutcher marriage will end in divorce

After several months of allegations and media speculation regarding infidelity and a troubled marriage, actress Demi Moore has announced that she will file for divorce from actor Ashton Kutcher, her husband of six years.

The 15-year age difference between Moore and Kutcher made headlines when they were married in 2005. However, their marriage seemed to be working, and the couple looked happy when they made public appearances or communicated with each other on Twitter. In recent months, however, rumors of Kutcher’s infidelity have swirled throughout the media, with one report claiming that Kutcher had cheated on Moore on their sixth wedding anniversary. Moore hinted at those allegations in a press release announcing her intent to file for divorce.

“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton,” she said. “As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.”

Kutcher took to Twitter to confirm the split. “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi,” he said. “Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail.”

The marriage was the first for Kutcher and the second for Moore. She was previously married to actor Bruce Willis, from whom she divorced in 2000 after three children and 13 years of marriage. Willis also remarried in 2009, with Moore and Kutcher both in attendance.
